A Parisian chocolatier is said to have created the first Yule log (Christmas cake) in 1834, but its creation is also attributed to a Lyon pastry chef a few years later.
On our tables, the logs usually consist of a sponge cake covered with a praline, vanilla, coffee, chestnut or chocolate buttercream and then rolled to take the shape of a block. You can also add a hint of alcohol, a layer of jam or chopped fruit. Finally, we cover it with icing, whipped cream or buttercream and decorate it with small objects such as an axe, a saw, a sleigh with reindeer, Santa Claus, elves, mushrooms, etc.
The 8-inch cake serves 4-6 people, and the 10/12-inch cake serves 8-10.
Place order by December 20th to arrive for Christmas.
